RUC for 7th Grade Students
Goal:
Goal: To provide medically accurate education that addresses the whole person including the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical dimensions and develops positive character and relationship skills.
Seventh Grade Lesson One
- The student will identify positive consequences of avoiding risky behaviors.
- The student will define the terms of abstinence education.
- The student will experience the confusion of positive and negative peer pressure when deciding a course of action.
Seventh Grade Lesson Two
- The student will name seven STDs and chart their primary characteristics.
- The student will explore the medical procedures to protect medical personnel.
Seventh Grade Lesson Three
- The student will probe the complex nature of bonding and relationships.
- The student will examine the dangers of not setting appropriate limits in relationships.
- The student will diagram the elements of a healthy relationship.
Seventh Grade Lesson Four
- The student will examine requirements for goal achievement and discuss obstacles.
- The student will commit to healthy behavior and pledge to abstain from risky behaviors.
- The student will create responses to peer pressure statements.
Seventh Grade Lesson Five
- The student will share individual responses to peer pressure statements and compile group responses.
- The students will examine cultural responses to HIV/AIDS.
